Emerson tem 13 anos e, por op\u00e7\u00e3o de seus pais hippies, foi educado em casa. Apesar de inteligente, o menino n\u00e3o tem a menor no\u00e7\u00e3o do que \u00e9 o mundo fora da redoma em que vive.<\/p>\n Quando ele acaba de escrever seu primeiro romance, a m\u00e3e finalmente decide matricul\u00e1-lo em uma escola.
