Has directed many short movies, among them, &#8220;Turning&#8221; with Raul de Souza and Maria Beth\u00e2nia. \u201cBuilding Bridges&#8221;, her debut feature fim as a director, has premiered at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and has awarded many prizes. \u201cEneida\u201d has premiered at The It&#8217;s All True \u2014 International Documentary Film Festival and was screened in Brazil and Portugal movie theaters. Author of &#8220;Helena Ignez, atriz experimental&#8221; (Edi\u00e7\u00f5es Sesc, 2021) and organizer of &#8220;Douglas Sirk, o pr\u00edncipe do melodrama&#8221; (CCBB, 2012), besides articles on film history and aesthetics, acting studies and film genre cinema (melodrama, musical, genre theory). She acts as a researcher, film critic, curator, juror and screenwright, having worked in the script development sector at Joel Zito Ara\u00fajo&#8217;s Casa de Cria\u00e7\u00e3o Cinema e Artes and Globo TV&#8217;s O2 Filmes. Graduated in Psychology from Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), has a PhD at University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP). Has scripted and directed three short films: \u201cLatif\u00fandio\u201d (2017), \u201cA Wild Patience Has Taken Me Here&#8221; (2021) and \u201cVoll\u00fapya\u201d (in post-production). Officially selected in more than 70 national and international film festivals, \u201cPacience\u201d has awarded 20 prizes, including Sundance Special Jury Award. Founding partner at Excesso Filmes, Sarmet is PhD in Media and Audiovisual Processes from University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP) and was a guest researcher at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the first half of 2023. Acts in the audiovisual field for 10 years amongst cinema, series and soap operas. He&#8217;s known for the film &#8220;Body Electric&#8221; by Marcelo Caetano, in which he was the leading actor.
