Ten feature films are part of this year’s Brazilian Competition, showing a comprehensive portrait of Brazilian LGBT+ cinematography that has been gaining power and relevance in the country and the world. Works from Ceará, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo bring the most diverse perspectives and themes involving sexuality, identity and gender, including friendship, mourning, religious intolerance, female orgasm and the experience of people with disabilities.
