A lad has his tenderness exorcised from his body. Impersonated as a man, a vaudevillian artist is hired to enlist new recruits. A young soldier carrying his own body through the batlle fields. Starting from poems written by LGBTQIA+ soldiers on the front line of World War I, Giovana Lago/Don Giovanni explores through the drag king poetic and the vaudevillian language how this conflict has changed the scenery and the masculine subjectivities in the 20th century – and how this echoes in the lads bodies these days.
