BRAZILIAN COMPETITION • SHORTS
Bringing together 17 short films from all five regions of Brazil, the Brazilian Competition – Shorts presents works that traverse physical and emotional landscapes—from the mountains to the backlands, from the road to the village—revealing bodies in transition, silenced desires, and multiple forms of resistance. Amidst indigenous spirituality, trans motherhood, lesbian love, violence, and liberation, a network of narratives emerges that confronts patriarchy, racism, and heteronormativity. These films expand our perspective on identity, pleasure, and belonging, transforming the act of filmmaking into a political, poetic, and profoundly human act.
