Visual Arts
Visual arts once again take center stage at the MixBrasil Festival, reflecting the multiplicity of expressions that mark the encounter between body and image in different media.
In this edition, three events paint a vibrant picture of contemporary production: at Galeria Vermelho, a ‘tchantchantchan’ event brings together artists from different generations in a dialogue between analog and digital, with performances, hybrid research, and the return of the iconic band Disk Putas; at the Museum of Sexual Diversity, the exhibition ‘A Gente Quer +’, curated by Vórtice Cultural, presents dozens of artists selected through a public call for entries in a plural panorama of languages, bodies, and expressions; and at the MIS, ‘Kwir Nou Exist’, by artist Raya Martigny, proposes a poetic look and sensitive reflection on representation, corporeality, and queer resistance in the community of Ilha Reunião.
With languages that traverse photography, video, performance, and digital aesthetics, the three exhibitions reaffirm MixBrasil as a territory of experimentation, diversity, and artistic freedom.
