This play is a spiral, this play has repeated for decades, this play has repeated for centuries, this play has been repeating since 1613. An Indigenous person living freely. A teenager experiencing first love. A child facing the pain of exclusion. An adult discovering freedom. A writer silenced from their truth. The small and great violences endured by LGBTQIAPN+ people since the arrival of those strange people — wrapped in heavy clothes and twisted tongues. The work draws a parallel with the history of Brazil through the lens of queer representation: collective traumas that I/they/we carry deep within our unconscious, traumas that continue to shape the core of our identities. How much longer?
