Unfolding is a new kind of film.
It is a cosmic narrative experienced in virtual reality, capturing the final moments of an intimate relationship unraveling in desintegration. Set inside a meticulously scanned apartment, the story follows two women as they navigate the tender, painful terrain of letting go.
One craves connection and clarity, yearning for love—even if it means moving on; the other, paralyzed by fear of change and loss, clings to the comfort of what was. As they confront the emotional residue of an attempted open relationship, tensions surface through subtle gestures and fragmented conversations.
Their home—once a shared space—becomes a quiet witness to their parting. Crushed origami scattered across the floor echoes a failed attempt at reconciliation, a symbol of words unspoken and love unrevealed.
Through embodied presence, cosmic sound, and atmospheric storytelling, Unfolding immerses the viewer in a breakup that is neither bitter nor dramatic, but intimate, complex, and deeply human.
You’re not watching the characters, you’re with them. As they brush their teeth, water their plants, and dismantle their relationship, you sit with them in their home — in a way impossible to occur even with your closest friends.
