Symbiotica vol. 2: The Webs of Coordination» is an AR interactive installation that gathers multiple players to weave symbiosis into each other and become a lichen, a pioneering organism made out of green algae, fungal mycelium, and cyanobacteria. These coordinated interactions will allow lichen formation by embodying these microorganisms and communicating with each other, capturing volatile nutrients, and weaving digital threads. Soredia, the “seed” of the lichen, guides the players through the story, providing at each stage instructions and conceptual ideas about evolution, and the importance of mutual support within the ecosocial tissues we inhabit not to become extinct.
