Espaço Maureen Bisilliat
From 10AM to 8PM

In partnership with the MIXBrasil Festival , the MIS presents, for the first time and in an original way, the exhibition ‘Bruce LaBruce: Uncensored.’ Celebrating the career of one of the most provocative contemporary independent filmmakers, the exhibition offers an overview of Bruce’s audiovisual work, culminating in an installation based on his latest feature film, the video art piece ‘The Visitor.’

The exhibition occupies the Maureen Bisilliat Space and is divided into three sections. In the first section, visitors can follow and learn more about Bruce’s work through an interactive timeline. The second section gives visitors the unique opportunity to experience some of the filmmaker’s lesser-known films, including his early experimental short films and trailers edited by Bruce himself that were not commercially released. The third and final section of the exhibition showcases the installation ‘The Visitor,’ based on the feature film of the same title, which premiered this year at the Berlin International Film Festival and was produced by the British gallery A/POLITIAL. The exhibition also features posters, behind-the-scenes footage, press kits, trailers, casting tests, stills from films, and more.
