ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE COMPETITION 1 – PIXELS AND PULSES
In keeping with its historical vocation of exploring the boundaries between art, technology, and diversity, the MixBrasil Festival presents for the first time a competition dedicated to films made with Artificial Intelligence.
The section brings together 19 short films selected from 75 entries from 14 countries, in addition to a special selection of 5 films curated by FIVIA (Festival International de Vidéo et Intelligence Artificielle de Marseille, France), reinforcing the dialogue between creators and researchers from different cultural contexts. The program reflects MixBrasil’s commitment to aesthetic and technological innovation and to expanding ways of seeing and narrating LGBT+ stories. The works reveal an incredible diversity of approaches – from experimental essay to fiction, from synthetic animation to hybrid documentary – and explore both the creative potential of new tools and their ethical, political, and affective implications. In addition to being an overview of the possibilities of AI in contemporary audiovisual media, the showcase proposes a reflection on authorship, language, and the very notion of the image in transformation.
